The governments of Canada and Quebec jointly announced water and wastewater system investments of more than $62.3 million supporting 36 water projects in the Chaudière-Appalaches region under the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF) and the New Building Canada Fund-Quebec, Small Communities Fund (NBCF-SCF).
Located south of the St. Lawrence River in the Quebec City area, a complete list of projects reveals that over $6.2 million of the combined federal and provincial funding will go towards the renewal of water pipes in Levis, and $5.68 million towards drinking water upgrade in Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce. Some 20 projects involve the renewal of water pipes in the region.
“Thanks to this important investment, 30 municipalities in the Chaudière-Appalaches region will be able to complete projects that meet their needs related to drinking water and wastewater treatment infrastructure,” said Dominique Vien, Minister responsible for the Chaudière-Appalaches region and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) for Bellechasse, in a release making the announcement.
