AMEC of Oakville has been given a contract to engineer and manage a $280 million gold mine in Alaska.

AMEC of Oakville has been given a contract to engineer and manage a $280 million gold mine in Alaska.
The international company won the contract to proceed with engineering, procurement and construction management services for the Pogo Gold Mine Project for clients Teck Cominco and Sumitomo.
The site is 90 miles southeast of Fairbanks, Alaska, and will be developed as a 2,500 ton per day underground gold mile and mill, producing up to 500,000 ounces of gold per year over 10 years.
