Montreal-headquartered CIMA+ has acquired GTA Hydro, a consulting engineering firm based in Saint-Laurent, Que., that has operated in the hydroelectric energy production sector since 2015.

The acquisition expands CIMA+’s portfolio and capabilities in the design, manufacturing, procurement and installation of hydroelectric turbine and alternator parts for new plants, refurbishments and modernization projects. GTA Hydro’s expertise spans the life cycle of hydraulic generating units and their auxiliaries, including main inlet valves, piping and instrumentation.

“GTA Hydro and CIMA+ have completed projects together and are currently collaborating on more, making this acquisition a natural strategic union,” says Steeve Fiset, CIMA’s chief strategy officer.
