CMPX 2014 Heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning show coming up

CMPX 2014, Canada’s national trade show for the air conditioning, heating (forced air and hydronics) hearth, plumbing, piping, refrigeration and ventilation industries, is in Toronto, March 19-21.

CMPX 2014, Canada’s national trade show for the air conditioning, heating (forced air and hydronics) hearth, plumbing, piping, refrigeration and ventilation industries, is in Toronto, March 19-21.

CMPX is held every two years by HRAI, the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada and CIPH, the Canadian Institute of Plumbing.

This year’s show has over 500 exhibitors, while over 15,000 people are expected to attend the event at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building.

Learning Forum Opportunities:

Below is a sample of the 21 Learning Forum Sessions.

Intelligent Controls Systems for Intelligent Contractors. Gerry Fitzsimmons of VSC Group will discuss intelligent devices, controls and the convergence of HVAC technologies.

Ontario Plumbing Code Changes. Rainier Blundel (President of the Ontario Plumbing Inspectors Association) will provide updates on pertinent changes to the plumbing code.

CSA F280 Heat Loss/Gain Standard. The newly published standard will dramatically change the sizing calculation of heating and cooling systems in homes built after 1995. Gord Cooke (Building Knowledge Canada) will present on how to recalibrate your thinking on how to right size equipment.

Hydronics. Mike Miller (Uponor) will lead a panel discussion about changes to CSA B214. Panelists include experts Dave Hughes (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) and Barry Cunningham (Triangle Supply). This is one of several hydronics sessions at the show.

Head Pressure Control in Refrigeration Systems. Walter Langille (National Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Canada – Keeprite Refrigeration) will provide technical information on why head pressure control is required, specifically looking at the efficiency and energy ($ payback).

Ten Ways to Convert Prospects into Clients. Suresh Parmachand (Stratovate Group) will speak on “Ten Ways to Convert Prospects into Clients.”

The New Products Showcase is located in the main foyer and more are featured throughout the show – look for “New Product” special signage.

Emerging Technologies. Both educational and hands-on opportunities will be available throughout the show.
