With reference to the news item posted on this website on February 5, “Stop behaving inappropriately, engineering students urged,” CCE has been told that one of the incidents related, the one at St Mary’s University in Halifax last September, was incorrectly attributed to engineering students.

Jessica LeNoble, the Atlantic Ambassador – Canadian Federation of Engineering Students and Vice President Communications – Atlantic Council of Engineering Students, explains that in fact, it’s unlikely that engineering students were involved at all in the St. Mary’s incident since they transfer out to another university after second year. At St. Mary’s University, orientation events are typically led by third and fourth year students.
