Delcan Corporation celebrated its 60th anniversary recently. The company began as a five-person operation in Toronto in 1953 and has expanded to 800 employees in offices world-wide. It works on transit, buildings and environmental projects, and has been a long-standing participant in annual fundraising programs including the United Way, Water for People, Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil campaign, local food drives, etc. It also contributes $50,000 every year in scholarships for post-secondary education.

At Hatch Mott MacDonald’s Western Canada offices, Doug Hinton, P.Eng, has assumed the new role of executive vice president – strategic initiatives. He was formerly Canada West division manager, and head of the Vancouver office before that. Tony Purdon, P.Eng., formerly executive vice president of major projects, has taken over as the Canada West division manager. Also based in Vancouver, his past projects include as design manager of the Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvement Project.
