According to IEEE, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, bicycle couriers in Cambridge, United Kingdom are helping to detect air pollution in the city through a tiny censor attached to a cell phone. The equipment was created by a computer scientist at Cambridge University. As the courier cycles around the city, the sensor-cell phone continuously transmit data on pollution levels back to a research laboratory.
