AMEC has won a major contract to restore power in Iraq. The US $500 million contract to rehabilitate, operate and maintain power generation facilities across the country, was won with AMEC’s joint venture partner, Fluor. AMEC has a 49% interest in the joint venture.
AMEC has six more proposals outstanding for further contracts to restore Iraq’s infrastructure. Last month it was awarded $154 million through Fluor for restoring damaged transmission and distribution systems.
