Genivar buys Leandre Gervais

GENIVAR of Montreal has acquired the consulting engineering firm Leandre Gervais & Associes (LGA).

GENIVAR of Montreal has acquired the consulting engineering firm Leandre Gervais & Associes (LGA).
Leandre Gervais is based in Val-d’Or and Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. The firm specializes in mining and forestry infrastructure and installations. Founded in 1995 by its current president Leandre Gervais, P.Eng., the company has 80 employees. Genivar has 1,200 employees.
Genivar intends to expand Leandre Gervais Abitibi-Temiscaminque offices, particularly in municipal enginering, transportation and building.
“We are very pleased to join forces with Genivar because it gives us new momentum,” said Mr. Gervais. “We now have the possibility of multiplying our business opportunities and to carry out even larger and more complex projects.”
Recent projects by LGA include the Lapa gold mine infrastructure in Abitibi for Agnico-Eagle, and Tembec’s Temlam laminated veneer lumber plant in Amos. They have also completed projects in Kazakhstan, Peru and Tanzania.
