PSMJ Resources, the U.S.-based business advisors to the construction professionals have found that clients of architecture and engineering companies take about 67 days to pay their bills — well over two months.
The 2007 PSMJ A/E Financial Performance Survey yielded the results.
In order to shorten the billing cycle, PSMJ offers various pieces of advice, including:
“Send invoices to clients promptly and often. Issue bills more than once a month, simplify your bills, create unit prices for routine activities, and don’t hold bills to resolve minor issues.”
