A team of Dillon Consulting, Perkins & Will, and Morrison Hershfield is helping Waterfront Toronto and the city with an environmental assessment and urban planning study for a project that has been much debated and discussed. The study will explore the feasibility of removing another portion of the Gardiner Expressway, a busy elevated roadway that carries traffic east to west through the downtown area.

The study will consider removing the expressway between Jarvis Street to east of the Don Valley parkway. While the crown agency Waterfront Toronto is advocating removal, the terms of the study require examining several alternatives, including  maintaining the status quo.  Public consultations are being held, and draft terms are expected to be submitted to the city council in July and to the Ontario Minister of the Environment in September.
