Government Relations Days

The Hon. Alfonso Gagliano, Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada signs an updated Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between ACEC and PWGSC at the ACEC’s 1998 Government Relations Days conference. The conference was held over two days at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa in December. Standing behind the minister (left to right) is co-signatory Bob Lorimer, P.Eng., ACEC Chair, Michael Nurse, Assistant Deputy Minister, Real Property Services, PWGSC, and Timothy I. Page, ACEC President. The document being signed commits PWGSC to contract out 85% of its engineering work. It updates a 1996 Memorandum of Understanding between ACEC and PWGSC formalizing PWGSC’s commitment to contract out core elements of its engineering work and not compete with the private sector.
