Grand-Mere hydroelectric plant among Quebec awards

The Association of Consulting Engineers of Quebec/l’association des ingenieurs-conseil de Quebec (AICQ) presented the winners of its 2005 awards program at a gala dinner in Montreal in early April. This is the third year in which the AICQ has held the awards.
Thirty-one projects were submitted to the 2005 Grand Prix du Genie-Conseil Quebecois, from which the following nine winners were selected:
– Pageau Morel et Associes for the Mountain Equipment Co-op store in Montreal (buildings category).
– Tecsult for the Grand-Mere Hydroelectric project for Hydro-Quebec (energy).
– Hatch for the Alcoa aluminum plant in Deschambault (environment).
– Genivar for the Complexe des sciences Richard-J. Renaud at Concordia University –
– KSH Solution for Paper Machine No. 4 at the Kruger Wayagamack plant in Trois-Rivieres (industry).
– Consortium Dessau-Soprin/SNC-Lavalin for the Interchange at l’Acadie, City of Montreal and Quebec Ministry of Transport (transportation infrastructure).
– Groupe Seguin Societe d’Ingenierie for the Atwater Tunnel and Approaches, for the City of Montreal (urban infrastructure).
– SNC-Lavalin for the Canadian Embassy at Port-au-Prince in Haiti (international).
– Dessau-Soprin for the Gaspe/Iles de la Madeleine (COGIM) fibre optic cable (telecommunications and new technologies).
The jury members were Robert Panet-Raymond, ing., (president), Denis Beaulieu, ing. (IRC), Dr. Nabil Esmail, ing., Jean-Paul Gagne, Michel Lesage and Mme. Andree-Lise Methot, ing.
