The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese Association of Refrigeration, agreeing to work together to promote the interests of their industries.
“The best way to solve the problems facing the building industry today is by working together,” ASHRAE President Lee Burgett said. “Carrying out these objectives will allow ASHRAE and CAR to find solutions to those problems, such as energy conservation, improving the quality of life for people around the world.”
By making the agreement, the Chinese and North American organizations hope to develop cooperative standards for refrigeration and support each other’s research and technology programs.
ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is an international organization of 55,000 people in both the U.S. and Canada.
