Jacobs Associates has appointed Dean Brox as a lead associate to be located in Vancouver where the company has established a Canadian branch office. Mr. Brox has 26 years of experience as a senior project and design manager for tunneling and underground infrastructure projects around the world. Jacobs’ is based in San Francisco and has several other offices in the U.S. and two in Australia.

Genivar Inc. has acquired AE Consultants, a firm specializing in architecture and engineering and located in St. John’s, Newfoundland. AE Consultants has 16 employees and will continue to operate under its own name.

At Associated Engineering, Scott Miller, P.Eng. has been promoted to manager of the Water and Environment group in the Saskatoon office. Greig Burnstead, PTP has joined the company’s Toronto office as practice leader for Transportation in Ontario.

Hatch Mott MacDonald (HMM) has announced multiple appointments in offices across Canada. Its Vancouver office has a new senior project manager for Ports and Harbours: Eric Monrad. In Ontario in the Mississauga office Crystal Cole, Jeff Grubert and Jack Thompson have been made senior project managers; Andy Isner and Hugh Kent have been made principal project managers and Douglas Lyons is a senior specialist. Rajan Sawhney, is a senior project manager in Burlington. In Nova Scotia, Kelsey Green has joined the Halifax office, and in Newfoundland, Steven Frizell  is a senior project manager in St. John’s and Michael Spencer has joined the Cornerbrook office.
