A two year study sponsored by ArcelorMittal has been published that compares the life cycle implications of structural systems in 60 to 120-storey buildings.
The analysis looks at global warming potential and embodied energy.
“Life Cycle Assessment of Tall Building Structural Systems” is available from the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) store.
The research compares the life-cycle implications of steel, concrete, and composite structural systems.
