Vito Culmone joined consulting engineering firm Stantec earlier this month as executive vice-president (EVP). He will also become chief financial officer (CFO) on Sept. 3.

Culmone has more than 35 years’ financial leadership experience across a number of industries, including airlines, telecommunications, fleet management and space technology. He earned his bachelor of commerce degree at the University of Toronto (U of T) and began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he earned his designation as a chartered accountant (CA). He has also been recognized as a fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Ontario.

Following an evaluation of internal and external candidates, supported by a global executive search firm, Stantec selected Culmone to succeed Theresa Jang, who previously announced plans to retire.

“We are excited to welcome Vito to the team,” says Gord Johnston, the firm’s president and CEO. “His expertise and leadership are key assets that will contribute significantly to our continued growth and success. I extend heartfelt appreciation to Theresa Jang for her exceptional leadership and contributions during her tenure. I am also grateful Theresa has committed to supporting Vito as he transitions into the CFO role.”
